What drives the cost
- Food-contact filament costs more.
- Custom logo cutters need design time.
- Sets of themed cutters increase print time.
Costs the calculator leaves out
- Care cards
- Small boxes
- Optional stamps or embossers
Step 2: turn cost into a price
A simple method: price = (cost + fixed fees) ÷ (1 − fee % − margin %). Using the example print cost of $1.95, plus about $1.50 for extras, a 10% marketplace and payment fee and a $0.45 fixed fee gives:
| Target margin | Price that covers it |
|---|---|
| 10% | $4.88 |
| 20% | $5.57 |
| 30% | $6.50 |
Illustrative only. Use your marketplace's current fee schedule, shipping and tax. A price that covers cost is not a promise anyone will buy at it, so check demand and competing listings.
Pricing tips for cookie cutters
- Sell themed sets rather than single cutters.
- Include care instructions such as hand-wash only and no dishwasher.
- Avoid food-safe claims you can't support. Check local rules.
